What's it like?

The personnel at RAF Benson are part of a tight-knit community, which serves to give the station a "warm" and welcoming feel. It is set in beautiful surroundings in the lovely Oxfordshire countryside. It is close to Oxford (15 miles) and Reading (18 miles), and both cities are easily reachable by car or bus. The proximity to London is also very useful for people living at RAF Benson, since the centre of London can be reached in 40 minutes on the train - Heathrow airport is a only 30 miles away.

There are some fantastic walks and countryside activities in the local area. Oxford and Reading are modern, cosmopolitan cities and are well suited for shopping, bars, eating out and evening entertainment.
