The Station is lucky to have a recently refurbished Community Centre located within the heart of the domestic site, near to the primary school, playing fields and nursery.

As well as being the centre of information for all community related matters, the Community Centre is home to our Community Development Worker and Service Community Support Officer. There are also facilities available for holding community meetings, complete with soft play facilities for babies and young children.

The Community Centre is also the home to our Community Youth Worker, provided by the RAF Benevolent Fund Airplay scheme. Our Youth Worker is the centre of activity for all youth related activities on Station and, alongside our Community Development Worker, runs numerous schemes including holiday play activities and trips and get togethers for the families of deployed personnel.

As well as providing generic facilities and information, the Community Centre is also the centre of activity for groups on Station such as the Additional Needs and Disabilities Group that meets monthly to ensure all personnel and dependants with additional needs or disabilities have an outlet for raising issues and addressing those issues with the Station or wider community and external organisations.
