Responsibilities and Composition

Operations Wing is responsible for the co-ordination and control aspects of the Station flying task. This includes provision of all the airfield facilities, and support services.

The Wing is made up of a number of very diverse specialist sections and squadrons, namely:

• The Support Helicopter Force Headquarters (SHFHQ)
• Air Traffic Control Squadron
• Joint Helicopter Support Squadron (JHSS)
• Meteorological Office
• Mission Planning and Support Cell
