Communication Technologies (Aerial Equipment) Level 2

Before 2006 the NVQ offered to Aerial Erectors was the Communication Technologies (Aerial Equipment) at Level 2. Currently we still have candidates working towards this qualification.

To achieve the whole qualification, candidates must prove competence in all four mandatory units and two of the five optional units.

Mandatory units

648 Improve your own effectiveness in the communications technologies working environment

652 Assess and control risks in the workplace

655 Prepare to work on exposed structures

674 Install and recover aerial systems and associated feeders

Optional Units

675 Rig and de-rig lifting equipment on masts and towers

676 Safely work at height on tall buildings

677 Erect aerial support structures

678 Maintain aerial systems and associated feeders to meet specified performance

679 Test antennae and feeders
