The Senior Non-Commissioned Staff Drill Instructors' Course (SSDIC)

This is a specialised course for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO) and Warrant Officers (WO) who have already completed their initial training and have been recommended. The aim is to enable Adult SNCO/WOs to instruct drill.

Course outline

Instruction will be given on the following topics:

• Parade Ground Layout
• All of the basic foot drill movements
• Qualities of a good Instructor
• Flight/Squadron/Wing Drill
• Pace Stick Drill
• Banner Drill

Attendees should note that this physically demanding course includes a lot of standing and marching around. For this reason, medical fitness is very important and anyone who has an injured back, limbs or blisters should not attend.
