As part of a legacy to the RAF Air Cadet 75th anniversary celebrations a bursary scheme has been launched to fund the development of cadets and adult volunteers.
Applicants can request a bursary between £500 and £2,000 to aid their personal training and development to improve their career prospects.
Commandant air Cadets said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the RAF Cadet Development Trust Bursary Scheme as part of the ATC's 75th anniversary celebrations.
“The scheme aims to provide cadets and junior adult volunteer staff with financial support – up to £2000 – in their transition to full time employment, be that via college or university education, work placements or apprenticeships. “
Are you eligible?
Cadets need to be 16 or over and have been a member of either the ATC or CCF(RAF) for a minimum of two years. Junior adult volunteer staff need to be under 25 and must have been a member of either the ATC or CCF(RAF) for a minimum of 4 years. Applicants must be able to detail and explain the training or development course they wish to fund via the bursary.
This is the first year of the scheme and funds are limited. The awarding panel expects to make up to 10 awards so the process will be highly competitive. If the concept proves successful, we hope to attract additional sponsorship and undertake additional fundraising for future years to enable more cadets and staff to benefit from the Scheme.
The application form is available on BADER with the deadline for applications 31st December 2016.
