New Competition - Calling All Budding Engineers!
Do you fancy spending a unique day as a technician with the Breitling Air Race Team? Air Cadet Magazine and website have once again teamed up with the Breitling team to offer one lucky cadet the chance to assist with one of the most important jobs in the race season.
The Prize
You will help the Team Technician Craig Andrew to dismantle and pack Nigel Lamb's unique MXS race plane and its traveling support equipment which will then be shipped to Abu Dhabi ready for Nigel to fly at the first race of the Red Bull World Championship Season.
You will also get a tour of the team's facilities, lunch and the opportunity to meet Nigel. This unique prize is available to just one Air Cadet and is a perfect opportunity for anyone with a keen eye for engineering.
Your day out will also make you a feature star in a future edition of Air Cadet Magazine.
Please note that this prize will not include a flight.
How to enter….
To stand a chance of winning this unique prize write a short story (aim for 500 words) on any engineering subject that interests you (either real or imaginary).
Terms & conditions
The only conditions are that you must be an enrolled cadet at the time of writing your article and that you are still a cadet when the prize is given by the Breitling Team (June 2010).
Send your submission in electronic form (words in the body of an email not as a word processed attachment) to mcaio@aircadets.org by Monday 28th June 2010 .
Don't forget to include your rank, name, age, Squadron and a contact telephone number. Please note:
1) HQ Air Cadets will not be able to help with the cost of the winner's
travel or accommodation arrangements but later in the year HQ Air Cadets
hope to arrange a similar day at the Museum of Flight at East Fortune so
please say if that location would be better for you.
2) The date is based upon the current known schedule of the aircraft being moved. If it is dictated that the MXS aircraft must be shipped earlier, the replacement prize will be to help Craig Andrew complete the annual service to the MX2 aircraft.
Best of luck to all of those that enter.
