Qualifications needed: 2 A-levels or 3 Highers, plus 5 GCSEs/Standards at Grade C/3 including English Language and Maths

Ensure the safe arrival, departure and integration of a whole station’s aircraft. Make sure the base is fully maintained and prepared for emergencies. Monitor the use of RAF and civilian airspace – checking that the skies are well-managed and safe for everyone to use; fast jets, multi-engined aircraft, helicopters and gliders.

Air Traffic Control Officers work in high-pressure environments and hold positions of huge responsibility. They also have all of the RAF’s top-of-the-range radar and communications resources at their fingertips – completing their objectives using some of the world’s most advanced equipment.
