Running RAF dining rooms on base. Taking control of the bars and reception areas of Officers' and Sergeants’ Messes. Keeping a cool head and providing a quality service in canvas-covered field cafeterias. Trained in silver service and customer care, Caterers always provide a service of the highest standard.

Later in their career, Caterers also have the chance to apply for the air transport aircraft Cabin Crew role. This can involve being called upon at the drop of a hat to go anywhere in the world, to oversee tasks like bringing RAF personnel back to their families from overseas operations, or providing first-class service to VIPs like the Royal Family or the Prime Minister.
