Qualifications you need: NMC registration, plus two years’ recent experience in a clinical environment. GCSEs/Standards at Grade C/3 in English Language and Maths

Qualifications you can gain: Additional clinical and academic professional qualifications

Leading a full team of highly-trained military nurses. Running a ward at The Princess Mary’s Hospital in Cyprus. Caring for RAF personnel in a specialist medical unit of a UK station. Providing emergency medical treatment at 30,000 feet, aboard a fixed-wing CASEVAC (Casualty Evacuation) aircraft.

Wherever you are, as an RAF Nursing Officer you’ll be equipped to provide the very highest standards of nursing care. And there’s a real chance you could be doing any of the above – the RAF like to give their Nursing Officers new postings every two or three years – to help keep their skills sharp.
