What the RAF say:

Throughout a Public Services Apprenticeship, learners are taught the importance of self confidence, how to work successfully as a team and how to improve their learning and performance. During Key Skills, apprentices gain qualifications in English, Maths and IT, and also learn methods of retaining knowledge. These values and activities are a day-to-day part of the training that recruits take before becoming a Regiment Gunner.

What do the apprentices think?

“My training was hard but fair, and very rewarding. It was also the most physically demanding thing I have ever done in my life!” LAC Jones

“Key Skills was really good. I was helped more than when I was at school. The extra help that I had from the specialist tutor made everything easier to understand.” LAC Coleman

“I really enjoyed the physical exercise, first aid training and the map reading. I think it will be very beneficial in my future and everyday life.” LAC Williams.
