Aircrew, ground crew, support staff. The health and fitness of all RAF personnel is vital to the smooth running of operations. And it’s Staff Nurses who are responsible for this.
They provide care in three main areas – primary healthcare (in RAF stations in the UK and overseas), secondary healthcare (based at MOD hospitals, tri-Service rehabilitation unit Headley Court and at The Princess Mary’s Hospital in Cyprus) and in operational roles like field hospital nursing and caring for casualties in aeromedical evacuation aircraft.
Wherever they are, RAF Registered Nurses are equipped to provide the very highest standard and can apply to become Nursing Officers after just three years.
