Horse Riding

RAF females horse riding Horse riding – or equitation to give it its formal name – has long been a popular sport in the RAF. Equestrian activities are encouraged from grass roots up to competitive levels. So you can take part whether you’re a complete beginner or if you’re at a standard to take part in affiliated competitions in dressage, show jumping or eventing.

In addition to improving fitness levels, horse riding can help develop determination, self-confidence and the ability to cope under pressure – all vital personal attributes that will come in useful in operations. So if you like to take the reins, there are over 20 Saddle Clubs throughout the RAF and seven stations have their own equestrian facilities.
