The application process

This section will guide you through the application process. RAF jobs fall into one of four groups – Officers, Non-Commissioned Aircrew and Non-Commissioned Air Traffic Controllers , Airmen/Airwomen and the RAF Regiment. You'll be evaluated at each stage of the process and must pass one stage before moving on to the next.

To find out more about making an initial application you can call our information line on 0845 605 5555. If your initial application is successful you will be invited to sit aptitude tests, attend a selection interview, have an occupational health assessment and take a pre-joining fitness test. After that, the next stage may involve a specialist interview or trade specific test.

If you've been successful at each stage we'll notify you of your acceptance into the RAF. You'll have a final interview to confirm your interest and answer any questions you have and be given a date to begin your basic training. Good luck!
