The job
You can join the RAF as a fully qualified dentist, having already undertaken your vocational training, or you can do your vocational training in one of our practices and at Defence Dental Services. If you do your training with the RAF, you’ll also do a four-week phase at one of our overseas bases where you will treat Service families. You’ll spend most of your career at dental practices on our bases in the UK – but you may also have the opportunity to work abroad for short periods.
After vocational training you’ll have the opportunity to study for the MJDF, and later you may be selected to study for an MSc in a dental discipline or use your postgraduate qualifications as a vocational trainer.
