Job description: As a guardian of the skies you will control the RAF's airborne assets. From the Chinook Helicopter to the Typhoon fast-jet, whether on a runway in the desert or at 30,000ft, you are responsible for the safety of all aircraft at all times.

Qualifications you need: 5 GCSEs/SCEs at Grade C/3 or equivalent, including English language and a grade B/2 in maths (3 GCSEs/SCEs at grade C/3 or equivalent, including English language and a grade B/2 in maths, depending on time served for serving personnel wishing to remuster)
Nationality: Citizen of the UK or the Republic of Ireland, or a Commonwealth citizen since birth

The job
Air Traffic Controllers work in a high-pressure environment where safety is paramount and teamwork is essential. You'll be using some of the world's most modern radar and communications equipment to control aircraft at all stages of flight, to and from our air bases across the globe.
You could be controlling multinational ai assets, working at the fifth-busiest UK-operated airport located at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. You could be in a field or on a floodplain laying a temporary landing zone for the RAF's Hercules transport aircraft. You could also find yourself working in a sophisticated radar room alongside civillian collagues at the En-Route Centres in Swanwick or Prestwick.
