On duty
Although most of us in the RAF work a five-day week most of the time, we are not nine-to-fivers. We take on challenges and are ready for anything, at any time. It could be airlifting supplies to a snow-bound mountain village or rescuing stranded crew from enemy territory. To succeed in our missions takes more than planes and pilots, there’s a whole team of people behind every aircraft that takes to the skies.
When lives are at stake, you want to be with people you can trust, people you can rely on. All of us are well trained and frequently assessed. This not only means you’ll be good at your job, you’ll also progress rapidly in your career.
There will be occasions when you have to work late or at weekends – we work until the job’s done. At times, you may even work round the clock. To do your job well in these conditions you need to be fit and we’ll help you to stay in great shape.
