Non-Commissioned Aircrew
If you join as Non-Commissioned Aircrew you can expect to be paid the following:

Recruit during first six months of training | £13,895 |
Recruit during remainder of training | £27,051 |
Sergeant | £32,756 – £36,929 |
Flight Sergeant | £36,048 – £43,251 |
Master Aircrew | £42,080 – £46,753 |
It can take as long as three years to complete your training, but when it’s over you’ll be promoted to Sergeant.
As well as the salary described here, qualified Non-Commissioned Aircrew also receive the following ‘flying pay’:

Up to 9 years | £2,606 |
9 years to 18 years | £5,423 |
After 18 years | £7,150 |
Within the pay scales shown here, your salary will be determined by your experience and your performance.
Bonuses
If you are still in the RAF after nine and a half years and have not given notice to leave the Service, you can expect to get a bonus of £5,500. You may have to commit to a further minimum period of service to receive a bonus.
If you spend between 12 and 18 years in the RAF, you will get a grant when you leave to help you settle back into civilian life.
