Squadron Leader A M Fox


Sqn Ldr A M Fox Squadron Leader Albie Fox has a long and varied service career. He joined the Royal Navy in 1972 as an Ordinary Seaman specialising as a Radar Plotter. In 1974 he was promoted to Midshipman and started his career as a helicopter pilot serving all over the world with 820, 826, 771 & 829 Naval Air Squadrons. He transferred to the RAF in 1981 where he became a Search & Rescue instructor serving with SARTU RAF Valley and A Flight 22 Squadron Chivenor. His final tour was at the CFS Ground School, Shawbury as the Principles of Flight Instructor. He left the RAF in 1992 and came back into the fold in 2006 as the Marketing Manager for the RAF Presentation Team. He became the RAF Community Relations Officer in August 2010.

Albie is a native of Llangadog in Carmarthenshire and went to school at Llandovery College. A Welsh speaker, Albie jumped at the opportunity to take this post and return to his roots in Wales.
