Low Flying in Wales
Low Flying by Naval, Army and RAF aircraft takes place regularly over Wales. Under normal circumstances Low Flying Training ceases at around 11pm each weekday night; however, special permision is sometimes granted for flying to continue into the early hours and at weekends.
Military aircraft are usually permitted to fly down to 250 feet minimum safe distance MSD)- (50 feet MSD for helicopters). However, in certain parts of UK aircraft may operate, for essential training purposes, down to 100 ft MSD.
