Brize Norton Families 2009
Show Report by Sgt Matt Thomas
Saturday 13th June 2009 saw the RAF Falcons rise to glorious sunshine over Brize Norton. After our pre-display preparation and briefings we boarded the Chinook from 18 Sqn RAF Odiham and were ready to open RAF Brize Norton Families Day at 1230 hrs. The Team exited the Chinook at 8000 ft in front of the 'home crowd' freefalling down to 5000 ft. After deploying our parachutes the famous RAF Falcons non-contact canopy stack with smokes was bulit and an awsome display was conducted. The Team landed in front of the friends and families of the service men and women based at RAF Brize Norton to a warm reception. The Team really enjoyed opening a very successful families day.
