Cambridge University 2009
Show Report by Sgt Matt Thomas
The evening of 19th June 2009 saw the RAF Falcons mount the Dornier aircraft from Weston on the Green. After the 30 minute flight we were above the Lawns of Cambridge University and the awaiting crowds celebrating the 800th Anniversity of Cambridge University. On the successful completion of a couple of practice runs, the 9 men of the 2009 RAF Falcons exited the aircraft at 4000ft with smokes blazing at 2035 hrs. The Team deployed their parachutes shortly after the exit and the 9 man stack was quickly built. The arena surrounded by trees, buildings and a large river was one of the most challenging the Team had faced this season. The Taem landed to the applause of the crowd and were paraded in front of a grateful audience. Flt Lt Rory Jackson then took the salute as the Dakota from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, RAF Coninsby conducted a flypast.
