Cardiff Armed Forces Day 2009

Show Report by Sgt Matt Allen

The RAF Falcons helped celebrate Armed Forces Day 2009 by displaying into Cathay Park, Cardiff on Saturday 27 th June 2009. The weather was perfect and the beautiful weather seemed to attract large numbers to the event. Jumping from the Cessna Caravan flown by ex RAF Parachute Jump Instructor Grant Richards the Team climbed to an altitude of 8000 ft. Once out the aircraft the Team performed the world famous 8 man non-contact canopy stack. Once the Falcons had formed the stack Team coach Toby Goodchild guided the Team into the arena passing over Cardiff Castle Millenium Stadium and the River Taff. The Team came into land to a rapturous applause from the crowd who were enjoying the days events. The Team would like to thank all the people who came out in their numbers to support the Armed Forces Day.
