RAF Falcons Corporate Day 2007

Cosford Air Show 2009

Show Report by Sgt Matt Thomas

DCAE Cosford was the venue for the RAF Falcons on Sunday 14th June 2009 for the Cosford Airshow. The Team arrived to open the flying displays at 1200 hrs. The days jump platform was the display Chinook from 18 Sqn RAF Odiham. We climbed to 8000 ft where the 9 Team members exited the Chinook, smokes blazing, above the waiting Cosford crowd. The Team deployed thier parachutes at 5000 ft. A 3 man flag Team lead by Sgt Steve Spencer landed first with the RAF Ensign, Peli Products and Sonic Communications flags impressively trailing. The remainder of the Team performed the famous non-contact canopy stack and due to light winds produced the impressive 'split stack spiral' for the first time this season. The Team landed to rapturous applause from the 65000 crowd setting the scene for the flying programme ahead.
