Leuchers Air Show 2009

Show Report by Sgt Martin Peace

The RAF Falcons headed to Scotland for one of the largest demonstrations of the season the Leuchers Air Show. The Team were to utilise the Chinook from 18 Sqn RAF Odiham an aircraft we had used many times before. The weather on the day was excellent and enabled the Team to jump from 10000 ft and perform their high show. With smokes burning the Team exited the aircraft and plumeted to earth at over 120 mph.. We deployed our parachutes at around 5500 ft and on the order from the Team coach built the world famous non contact canopy stack much to the delight of the thousands of spectators below. Team comentator Graham Liggins described the action as the Falcons brought their show to a climax.  The show itself was throughly enjoyed by the whole Team. The Falcons would like thank 18 Sqn RAF Odiham for the use of the aircraft and RAF Leuchers for inviting us to perform.
