RAF Cranwell 2009
Show report by Sgt Martin Peace
An overcast day greeted the RAF Falcons for their display into RAF Cranwell in aid of the McMillian Cancer Research Fund. The Team travelled to RAF Conningby to meet up with the Dakota from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The call was finally given for the display to take place on time as the weather over Cranwell had improved. The Team would be exiting the aircraft from 2500 ft and on the call from the Team coach FS Toby Goodchild we began our display. The Team built their world famous non contact canopy stack very quickly and skillfully guided themselves into the drop zone to a waiting crowd of local school chidren and RAF Cranwell staff instructors. Once the Team had landed and met the crowd we all took part in the McMillian Mile walk around Cranwell for charity. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all the Team and spectators. The Falcons would like to thank The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and RAF Cranwell for inviting us to perform.
