RAF Falcons 2009

Royal Cornwall Show 2009

Show Report by Cpl Brian Wright

On 4 Jun 2009 the RAF Falcons travelled to Dunkswell in Devon to meet their aircraft, a King Air to perform their impressive display into The Royal Cornwall Show. It took approximately 30 minutes until the Team were overhead. It was clear skies and bright sunshine, which are perfect conditions for both the parachutists and the viewing spectators. The Team exited from 8000 ft and deployed thier parachutes quickly forming the world famous nine man non-contact canopy stack. The Team wowed the crowd with an impressive display, with smoke trailing and landed in the Arena with great accuracy. The following day saw the Team perform for The Royal Cornwall Show again. This time the Falcons met the aircraft at Newquay International Airport. The weather conditions for this display were not as good as the day before, with a lower cloud base which resulted in the Team jumping at 4500 ft performing an equally impressive canopy display. The RAF Falcons would like to thank The Royal Cornwall Show for inviting us and  Ross Featherstone and Dunkswell for their aircraft.
