Southend Festival of Air 2009

Southend 2009

Show Report by Sgt Martin Peace

The May Bank Holiday saw the RAF Falcons complete a demonstration into The Southend Festival of Air. The Team travelled to Southend Airport wher they utilised the Piston Islander from Headcorn Airfield in Kent. It was a short 10 minute flight until the Team were overhead. They exited at 5,000 ft and put together a breathtaking 9 man non contact canopy stack culminating  in a beach landing in front of thousands of spectators. A beautiful sunny day together with excellent crowds made Sunday's demo an exciting and enjoyable event for both the Team and public. Bank Holiday Monday's demo was unfortunately cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The Team would like to thank Drew Moon and Headcorn Parachute Centre for their support and the The Southend Festival of Air for inviting us to perform.
