RAF Falcons 2009

Waddington Air Show 2009

Show Report by Sgt Tony Brookes

The RAF Falcons were extremely proud to perform at the RAF Waddington International Airshow on 4 & 5 July 2009. The Team opened the show on both days and had glorious weather which enabled them to put on 2 High show displays. The Falcons utilised a Chinook from 18 Sqn, RAF Odiham on both the Saturday and Sunday. We climbed to 10000 ft and 8 Team members exited in quick succession. After 5000 ft of freefall in which the Team members tracked across the sky their parachutes were deployed and they very quickly built the world famous 'non-contact' canopy stack. The Team landed in front of the VIP enclosure to a wonderful reception from the 100,000 plus crowd. The RAF Falcons would like to thank those involved at the Airshow for inviting us to preform and the Chinook crew for thier support.
