In 2012, the RAF Hawk Display team will be supporting the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF). Our target is to reach £10,000 which we can only achieve with your valued support.

RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF)

The Royal Air Force has a proud tradition of looking after its own. The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF’s leading welfare charity and is an extension of that tradition.

Since our foundation in 1919, we have been there, through thick and thin, supporting the RAF family. We are there for all serving and former members of the RAF as well as their partners and dependent children.

Why they exist

The RAFBF have three main goals, or charitable objectives. These are the reasons that the charity exists.

  • The first is to maintain and preserve the RAF Memorial in London on behalf of the nation.
  • The second is to provide assistance to the RAF family, when they are in need.
  • The third is to support the morale and wellbeing of the serving RAF.

What they do

The RAFBF provide a spectrum of care, supporting everyone from children growing up on RAF stations, to those serving today to keep our skies safe, to the veterans who fought for our freedom.

It could be supplying an electric wheelchair for a Polish pilot who fought in the Second World War, supporting the widow and children of an RAF sergeant killed in action, or providing practical help to a young airman injured in Afghanistan.

They also run a range of innovative projects and services including:

They spend £20million each year supporting over 60,000 people, and we rely on you to make it all happen.

Make a Donation

The RAFBF is an independent charity and receives no government funding. Relying entirely on external support to continue the good work. All funds raised through the sales of memorabilia will be donated to the charity.
