Wing Commander Euge Moriarty

Wing Commander Eugene Moriarty is Officer Commanding 208 Squadron at RAF Valley. After joining the RAF in 1989 aged 19 his first tour was on XIII Squadron at RAF Honnington flying the Tornado GR1A in the reconnaissance and attack roles.

During his career he has completed instructional tours on the Hawk T1 at RAF Valley and Hawk 115 on exchange with the Canadian Forces. In 2003 he returned to XIII Squadron to become a Flight Commander on the Tornado GR4. During this tour he flew operational missions over Iraq in support of Operation TELIC.

Wing Commander Moriarty has over 3500 hours of fast jet flying experience of which some 2000 hours were spent instructing on Hawks. He is married to Charlotte and has 2 sons and 1 daughter. In his spare time he is a keen triathlete and enjoys water sports and most outdoor activities.
