History of 664 Squadron:

No.664 Squadron was formed on 9 December 1944 at Andover with Canadian personnel and moved to the Netherlands on 19 March 1945 to support the First Canadian Army for the remaining weeks of the war. After a period with the occupation forces in Geramny, it was disbanded on 31 May 1946.

On 1 September 1949, No.664 was reformed at Hucknall as a unit of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and operated detached flights at Yeadon, Rufforth, Usworth, Desford and Wymeswold. On 10 March 1957, it was disbanded.
