Sport is an important part of any University Air Squadron with a multitude of sports events throughout the year. These range from Inter-UAS competitions to locally organised training events. There is always the possibility for the Bursar recruits to trial for the RAF College teams, or indeed the main RAF teams.

RAF Woodvale has a well equipped gym, and the squadron Physical Training Instructor is on hand to provide any students with advice and programmes for their personnel fitness. However, LUAS also has corporate membership to Victoria Gym in Southport for the use of squash courts, pool and sauna, and extensive gym equipment.

Liverpool UAS has a yearly competition with Manchester And Salford UAS, who are also based at RAF Woodvale. The tournament is important for both squadrons, and the players are always highly motivated. The skill levels shown throughout reflect the passion and dedication from the students, and emphasise strong but friendly rivalry between the two squadrons.
