Twenty-seven volunteers from the Air Cadet Organization have received nationally recognised qualifications for their contribution and dedication to the thriving cadet forces in the United Kingdom.
Guest of honour, Admiral the Lord West of Spithead, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Security and Counter-Terrorism, was joined by 200 guests and VIPs for the Cadet Vocational Qualification Organization (CVQO) Graduation Ceremony held at RAF College Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
The 27 graduates joined by a total of 36 from the Army Cadet Force and Sea Cadet Corps were presented with either a City & Guilds Graduateship in Youth Management and Training (Level 6), equivalent to a British bachelor’s degree, or a Licentiateship in Youth Leadership and Training (Level 4).
Lord West of Spithead said: “It is most impressive that these adult volunteers have found time to study for these qualifications considering they give up a significant amount of time to dedicate to the youth of this country".
A special award for outstanding work was also presented to Squadron Leader Joyce Mann of Kelvinside Academy CCF (RAF) in recognition of the very high standard of her portfolio report backed up with comprehensive evidence.
The Assessor’s Report stated: “Without doubt, Sqn Ldr Mann’s portfolio is one of the best that I have assessed. At each and every stage, the contents of the portfolio fully demonstrate her personal skills, specific competencies and abilities as an RAF VR(T) Officer.”
