Air Force catering supremo Cpl Sophia Warland will be putting her skills to the test at Buckingham Palace – after winning her way through to the finals of a national search to find the UK’s best hospitality team.
Odiham-based airwomen Sophia took on staff from some of the country’s top restaurants and hotels to make the last eight of the Gold Service Scholarships.
She just missed out on the top spot during the finals in London’s West End this month – but has landed the chance to work at a Buckingham Palace garden party, and picked up a three-day tour of Champagne country in France.
HM The Queen is patron of the Gold Service Scholarships and presented 28-year-old Sophia with her award at a ceremony at the world famous Claridges hotel.
Sophia said: “It was amazing. The food at the ceremony was to die for and the champagne flowed freely. As finalists we all picked up a Fortnum and Mason goody bag.”
