RAF players took home all 3 trophies at the 2016 Combined Services Real Tennis Championships, with Sqn Ldr James Treweek the standout performer.
James, a Training Officer based at RAF High Wycombe, won the Serving Singles, Serving Doubles and Past and Present Doubles titles on a busy finals day.
The tournament took place 17-19 February at the prestigious Queen's Club in west London with 38 players competing. The Army made up two thirds of the competitors, with the RN and RAF equally split, but it was three of the six competing airmen that finished the event victorious.
After a closely fought semi-final against Flt Lt Andy Keeley, also based at High Wycombe, James started the finals day with a comfortable win against Army opposition to take the Serving singles title. He then teamed up with Andy to overcome the Army with similar confidence, winning the Serving doubles.
James then finished the day by partnering AVM (ret'd) Aroop Mozumder for a tightly-fought past and present doubles final. Allowing veterans to enter meant this element of the championship had by far the most entries and was fiercely contested. The winning pair not only received the trophy but also the opportunity to meet and chat with World Champion Rob Fahey!
