RAF Police from 4 Force Protection and 8 Force Protection Wings are providing Air Force Protection for repatriation flights.
Twelve RAF Police Military Aviation Protection Officers are providing Air Force protection to RAF aircraft, crew and passengers who qualify for repatriation under the ongoing Afghanistan Relocation and Assistance Policy.
"I have deployed as part of a Military Aviation Protection Officers team to collect the passengers and relocate them to the UK. So far, I have provided security for the aircraft and ensured the passengers are safe and comfortable at all times. It is a very rewarding experience to be able to utilise the knowledge and training I have gained in the RAF Police, and to be able to help those people who supported us in the past."

The RAF Police join other key enablers such as Medics and interpreters to transport passengers to the UK. Those transported include vulnerable Afghans who are eligible for relocation to the UK under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy, and British nationals. Further flights are due to arrive in the UK in the coming weeks with more eligible people on board.
RAF Police deliver specialist aviation security to protect the Air Mobility Force when deployed throughout the world, in support of UK Defence tasking. Additionally, they screen all passengers and freight travelling to ensure dangerous air cargo and prohibited articles are identified and regulated whilst also providing specialist security guidance to aircrew ensuring Defence is kept safe and secure whilst transiting by air.
