Our Mission:

In addition, we have responsibilities for the RAF Support Helicopter Force, for which we have an additional mission:

“To support the generation, development and sustainment of the RAF’s Support Helicopter Force so that they can best meet the Joint Helicopter Command Mission”

Our Strategy:

We will continue to meet our immediate commitments, which include: current overseas operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, home based Quick Readiness Alert Aircraft and the continued air defence of the Falkland Islands. In addition, we will continue to sustain and develop our capability to meet any emerging threats to the UK or UK interests around the globe. Over the next few years we will introduce new capabilities in the shape of the Typhoon and the new Joint Combat Aircraft (JCA). These new capabilities will transform the way that the RAF delivers Air Power and we will maximise the huge advances that these capabilities will bring.
