The Head of the Training Group is Air Vice-Marshal Barry North OBE, known as Air Officer Commanding No 22 (Training) Group (AOC No 22 (Trg) Gp) and also as Chief of Staff Training in his role as the RAF lead for ‘through-life' training.
The Group is split into 8 areas as follows:
- RAF College Cranwell and Director of Recruiting
- Directorate of Flying Training (DFT)
- Directorate of Joint Technical Training (DJTT)
- Air Cadets Organization (ACO)
- Core HQ
- Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering (DCAE)
- Defence College of Communications and Information Systems (DCCIS)
- Defence College of Electro-Mechanical Engineering (DCEME)
