Flt Lt S. K. Masawi RN(A), PMRAFNS

I joined the PMRAFNS in Jul 08, from the NHS, as I believed the RAF would provide me all the job satisfaction and challenge that I was seeking in life and I have not looked back since. After I completed basic training at RAF Cranwell, as a prize winner, it was not long before I was deployed on my first operational tour, in Camp Bastion, A&E Department in Afghanistan. I am now on my A&E, BSc Specialist course in London, which is part of my career development towards working on the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). I highly recommend the PMRAFNS to any nurse who is after Job and Life satisfaction even if you are a family person like me.

Flt Lt Rebecca Dennett MNurs, Dip HCS (Critical Care), RN(A), PMRAFNS

Flt Lt Dennett I joined the PMRAFNS in 2008 after working as a Staff Nurse in Adult Intensive Care in Nottingham and have never looked back. The PMRAFNS offers the perfect balance of both clinical and military development. The high point of my career has been my recent operational deployment to Afghanistan. I was able to utilise my nursing skills in a challenging and austere environment, moving critical care patients via aeromedical evacuation. Aside from my primary tasks, I am the Officer in charge of the PMRAFNS Tennis Tournament, an event that has been running since the 1960s and I have represented the Branch at ‘Armed Forces Day’ events and attended the Florence Nightingale Memorial Service at Westminster Abbey. I am proud to be in the PMRAFNS, I wholly recommend this career pathway to any nurse who has a desire to lead and has a zest for daily personal and professional challenges.
