Q: Is there a charge for a Presentation?
All of our presentations are provided FREE.
Q: You have two presentations; what is the difference between the Civic Presentation and Schools Presentation?
The main presentation content itself is identical, however the introductory portion is flexible to meet the needs of the specific audience.
The main difference is that typically the Civic presentations are delivered as evening events, preceded by a drinks reception and followed by tea and coffee with an opportunity to meet the team. The Schools presentation tends to be shorter, within a school period of around 45 minutes, with 10-15 minutes allocated within this for questions/discussion. Ultimately both teams are highly flexible and can meet your specific requirements on request.
Q: Who would benefit from the presentation?
Both presentations aim to heighten awareness of defence related issues, encourage debate and questioning, and explain the role the Royal Air Force plays in protecting the United Kingdom's interests. The civic presentation is available for any interested party in the community, be this an organisation, society, club, industry etc. The schools presentation is aimed primarily at lower and upper 6th form students. Exceptionally we can present to the slightly younger 5th form audience if the school deems this suitable.
Q: What are the space and power requirements at a Venue?
The Civic Presentation equipment is carried in 2 vehicles, a 3.5 tonne high top Mercedes Sprinter van and a standard saloon car. The Schools equipment is carried in a people carrier. These vehicles will require adequate parking space, but more importantly, convenient access for unloading equipment into the venue.
The teams have numerous items of heavy equipment; accordingly a ground level area is naturally preferred with level access. Should the proposed venue not be situated at ground level then access by lift must be available.
For a civic presentation the room must have adequate power-points (2 minimum) and comprehensive blackout facilities. To give the best possible effect please allow a minimum of 3 metres from the back wall to our screen for our rear projection and a further 3 metres from the screen to the start of the seating.
For a schools presentation, a school hall is ideal although other venues can be considered. A single power point is adequate and light levels must be suitable for using a projector (front or rear projected).
Q: Is there a minimum audience?
Due to the cost and time involved with our presentations we do not generally present to an audience of less than 50. However, please contact us to discuss your requirements, we can be flexible and exceptionally provide a cut down presentation to smaller audiences.
For schools, multiple presentations can be given back to back for coverage of a greater student population.
Q: How much time is needed to setup?
For a civic presentation a minimum of 1.5 hours is required to setup the extensive audio/visual equipment. Post presentation it normally takes the teams around 1 hour to pack up depending on vehicle access.
For a schools presentation the team allows around an hour beforehand to set up their own equipment or integrate with existing AV facilities. Post-presentation pack up usually takes around half an hour.
