Bentley Priory Station Message

Royal Air Force (RAF) Bentley Priory closed on 31st May 2008.

RAF Bentley Priory was headquarters of Fighter Command during the Second World War and played a critical role in saving Britain during the conflict. The RAF is proud to have been associated with Bentley Priory, Stanmore and the wider community of Watford and Harrow.

The Bentley Priory site has been bought by the development company VSM Estates, which has the intention of converting the mansion to luxury apartments. Further residential buildings are planned in its gardens. The main public areas of the Officers' Mess associated with Lord Dowding, Fighter Command and the Battle of Britain are to be developed into an education and heritage centre by the Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust to commemorate those who fought and died in the Battle. All lodger units stationed at RAF Bentley Priory have moved to RAF Northolt to which all correspondence should be directed.
