Here at Boulmer we provide a high quality of flexible childcare which we hope will meet your needs and more importantly the needs of your children.

Searchers and Seekers

Searchers and Seekers are situated in the grounds of Longhoughton C of E First School. Children may join us once they have reached the age of three years and they usually remain with us until they begin full time school after their fourth birthday. The Nursery is managed by Nursery Practitioner Miss Caroline Davison who is supported by a team of highly qualified Early Years Practitioners and maintains a ratio of one adult to every eight children. We provide an open and welcoming environment for both children and parents and together as a team we can ensure that your child is happy, secure and that he or she has access to an inspiring learning environment. We have access to extensive outdoor areas and also a local Forest School and therefore encourage the children to spend most of their time outside exploring and enjoying the fresh air. We are lucky to be positioned only ¾ mile from the east coast so we can also spend time there. These are great opportunities for the children to develop social skills, problem solving skills and spatial awareness through fun and play.

Parents are welcome to drop in and visit at any time before and after registering their child, and staff are also happy to spend time settling in children (and parents too!) when they first arrive. Why not come along and meet us and see for yourself?

Tiny Explorers

Tiny Explorers is situated in a purpose built facility for our 0-3 year-olds and we can be found in Portal Place, Longhoughton. We are open 0730-1800 all year round (with the exception of a 2 week period during the Christmas break and Bank Holidays). We have places for up to 50 children and maintain a staffing ratio of 1:3 for under 2s and 1:4 for over 2s. The manager is supported by a team of highly qualified staff experienced in meeting the individual needs of these very young children and babies. Your child will be nurtured from day one and you can leave them with us knowing that they will be safe, secure and content. Ofsted judged this to be "a warm and supporting place for families and their children" and this is certainly the ethos we aim to achieve.

Your child will have the opportunity to interact and socialise with other children of a similar age in an organised and well-supervised setting which will encourage your child to develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives. These include sharing and caring for each other whilst making friends, developing communication skills (such as talking and listening to each other), physical and imaginative skills.
