RAF Vs Cambridge Select April 2009

The first event was held at RAF Wyton Officers’ Mess on 23 April 2009, where the wonderful surroundings and impeccable organisation set a formidable standard. With 6 additional shows in the area it was becoming increasingly difficult to match an entire team, and eventually only 3 RAF boxers graced the new RAF AIBA ring.

RAF Wyton Results:

SAC Young (78kgs) beat J Dunkley, Wellingborough ABC (pts)

Cpl Wardley (76kgs) beat PC Ness, Met Police BC (pts)

SAC Innes (75kgs) beat PC Barr. Met Police BC (pts)

These contests were extremely close with both Cpl Wardley and SAC Innes scoring points victories by only one point. A clean sweep ensured that all elements of the team were confident prior to the next representative match.
