Visiting RAF Henlow

RAF Henlow is situated within the Bedfordshire Boundary at the junction of the A600 and A6001 Bedford / Hitchin / Biggleswade road.  The A1 J10 is 4 miles and M1 J11 is 16 miles. London lies 40 miles to the south.

By Rail

The nearest train station is at Arlesey which is a stop on the slow train from London Kings Cross, but there is no bus service between this station and RAF Henlow.  The other nearby railway station is at Hitchin, which does have a bus service to RAF Henlow within 10 mins walk of the station.  From Arlesey it can take up to an hour to get to London depending on the number of stops.  From Hitchin it takes approximately 35 minutes on the fast train.  Both of these stations are on the main east coast line.

Arlesley is about 10 minutes by car and Hitchin is about 15 minutes.

By Bus

The nearest National Express Coaches operate from Hitchin.

For Henlow both Stagecoach (between Hitchin and Bedford) and Centrebus (between Hitchin and Biggleswade) run a regular service locally.

By Air

Luton is within 25 minutes; Stanstead is approximately 1 hour; Heathrow, Birmingham, East-Midlands and Gatwick are within 2 hours.

They can all be reached using public transport.
