THERE IS NOW A SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE BETWEEN THE AIR TERMINAL AND HIRE CAR CAR PARK. IT WILL DEPART THE HIRE CAR CAR PARK ON DEMAND. THE SERCO GUARD WILL CONTACT MT TO ADVISE THEM WHEN THEY HAVE PASSENGERS FOR COLLECTION. FOR TRANSPORT FROM THE TERMINAL, GO TO THE INFORMATION DESK AND THEY WILL CONTACT MT.

PLEASE DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO STAND OUTSIDE AS THERE IS A HEATED RECEPTION AREA FOR YOUR USE. YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT FOR UP TO 15 MINS, SO PLEASE FACTOR THIS IN TO YOUR ARRIVAL TIME.

Civilian Flight Bookings to Ascension Islands and Falklands Islands

It is quite easy to travel as a fare paying passenger to these destinations.

The Passenger Information Desk is located between the Check-in Area and the Arrivals Lounge.

Please be aware this is a very busy service and operators will answer your call as soon as possible. The Passenger Information Line has a variety of useful information in the form of recorded messages. Please listen to these before transfering your call through to an operator

The Passenger Information Desk can provide flight information about RAF Brize Norton scheduled passenger aircraft movements no more than 24 hrs in advance. If the flight you are enquiring about is due to land at any other airfield the staff on the information desk will not be able to assist you.

Are you delivering or collecting a passenger from RAF Brize Norton?

ACCESS TO THE STATION

UK nationals, on production of the required documentation as detailed below, who are delivering an outbound passenger or meeting an inbound passenger, will be permitted access to the station.

Security staff will check that the passenger is listed on the flight manifest before access is granted.

Please note – No ID no entry.

All non-UK nationals (who are not serving military within NATO) are not allowed unescorted access to the station. Non-UK nationals must arrange, through the parent unit of the passenger they are meeting, for a suitable person to act as escort at all times whilst they are at RAF Brize Norton. Non-UK nationals arriving without an escort will not be permitted access to the unit unless prior approval has been given by the station commander via OC Passenger Plans 01993-897827 (Mon-Fri 0800-1700).

Acceptable forms if ID:

An MOD identity card or Dependents Pass.

A valid UK passport or UK identity card.

UK drivers licence and Birth Certificate.

Unacceptable forms of ID:

UK drivers licence on its own.

Credit Cards

Bank card

Household bills

Company or Business Cards.

Check-in Desks

The check-in desks are located just inside the main Departures entrance to the Air Terminal.

If you are disabled or have difficulty walking and required a wheelchair please ask for assistance at the Information Desk or Check-in Desk 1.

Check-in Times

Please be aware that for all flights leaving RAF Brize Norton the check-in time is no later than 2 hrs and 30 mins before your flight, the only exception is that you must report 3 hours before your flight to the Falklands and Ascension Islands. If you think you are going to be late please ring the passenger and flight information line with your reasons and approximate time of arrival.

Inbound Passenger Information

Passenger onmoving to their final destination by civilian airline from a civilian airport are entitled to leave their ECBA and helmet at the Air Terminal for no longer than 3 weeks.

There are no left luggage facilities at RAF Brize Norton. Passenger must make alternative arrangements prior to arrival.

Passenger Baggage Allowance and Information

Hand Baggage

As a result of continuous wear and tear on the overhead baggage containers in both RAF and charter aircraft, the Air Terminal has become more strict on size and weight of hand baggage.

Please note that you must have overnight kit in your hand luggage incase of a delay or diversion requiring an overnight stop.

Hold Baggage

Each piece should not exceed 32kgs due to health and safety legislation. Passengers who check in bags in excess of this weight will be asked to re-pack them.

Any passenger who requires excess baggage please contact Defence Passenger Reservation Centre on 030 679 81146/81147. Please note that excess baggage will only be granted for personal belongings only. Non authorised excess baggage will be charged at the current MOD rates.

Hold baggage does not include the following items;

Vehicle or marine spares
General engineering equipment
TVs and PCs
Furniture
Large kitchen appliances

The hold baggage limit for indulgence passengers is 20kg.

Passenger Travel Documentation

Passports

Passports must be carried at all times to allow for aircraft diversion or the need for the passenger to return for compassionate reasons on a civilian airline. Service personnel travelling as indulgence or CNFP must hold a valid passport.

Passengers must be in possession of a valid passport in the same name as the booking.

Travel Orders

Passengers travelling to Al Udeid must have a colour printed Qatari Travel Order dated for the date of travel only.

Identification Cards

Passengers travelling to Al Udeid must have a pristine ID card with no scratches and breaks or damage to the hologram or photograph.

Weapons

Passengers are not permitted to check in personal weapons until four hours prior to the aircraft departure time. The Station Armoury will store weapons outside this timescale.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Air Terminal with the exception of the smoking shelter which is situated outside the arrivals door.

Dress Regulations

Regulations concerning acceptable standards of dress are contained in JSP 800 Chapter 18. Any passengers reporting to check in who are not appropriately dressed will be asked to change before being allowed to check in. Untailored or sports shorts are not permitted to be worn.

Vehicles should be pre-booked using the contact details given below to ensure availability (AVIS, Europcar and Hertz only provide vehicles for pre-arranged bookings - National and Brize Self Drive keep vehicles on-site for rental). Information on accepted payment methods and full rental terms should be obtained when making bookings enquiries. PLEASE NOTE THAT PASSENGERS ARRIVING IN ENTERPRISE OR THRIFTY CAR RENTAL VEHICLES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARK AT RAF BRIZE NORTON. ANY HIRE CARS PARKED ILLEGALLY IN THE NURSERY CAR PARK WILL BE TOWED AWAY AND THE HIRER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS INCURRED.
