Working Groups
Engaging With the Community
As part of our on going commitment to our local communities, we are dedicated to building and sustaining a positive dialogue with our neighbours; informing, involving, and reporting back to them.
We also attend local parish meetings on request, as well as holding our established Community Briefing Days and Key Stakeholder Events.
Local Consultation Working Group
AIM – To provide an opportunity for sharing ideas and for highlighting issues which may affect our neighbours. It is not aimed at any particular village or issue, but rather a form for discussing a wide range of topics.
Invitation extended to one individual for each parish (nominated by the Parish Council) who can attend the meetings and act as a conduit between the Station and the communities.
The meetings will be chaired by the Officer Commanding Airfield Operations Wing, and will be held at least quarterly.

Update on Publication of Noise Survey Report
The Ministry of Defence has been given a Draft of the noise survey report undertaken by AMEC relating to noise generated by engine ground runs on the C130 Hercules Fleet.
The Ministry of Defence is now considering the observations made in the Draft and at this stage it is considered inappropriate to release a Draft version of the report in isolation. We are now investigating a range of potential options to further mitigate the impact of noise on the local community.
Please be assured that the Ministry of Defence is committed to making the report and details of the potential options to further mitigate the impact of noise available, through your Parish Council representatives on the Local Consultation Working Group, at the earliest possible opportunity.
It is anticipated that the next meeting of the Local Consultation Working Group will be fixed for as early a date as possible following the publication of the Report.
If you would like further information on these meetings, please contact the Media and Communications Office on 01993 896342 or 01993 897779.
