Repatriations
Repatriations
The sad, but proud, duty of receiving our fallen military personnel killed in action, has now transferred to RAF Brize Norton from RAF Lyneham as of 1 September 2011.
The deceased are flown back on a C-17 of Number 99 Squadron where members of their families are waiting at the new purpose built Repatriation Centre. Senior Military Representatives, including the Station Commander, will also be in attendance.
After a short ceremony, the cortege will leave RAF Brize Norton via Britannia Gate to the Memorial Garden at Norton Way. Details of the Memorial Garden and route can be found on the Oxfordshire County Council website
