RAF Brize Norton Childcare Partnership

The two childcare facilities work in partnership and aim to meet the varied needs of Serving Personnel and MOD Personnel serving at RAF Brize Norton.

RAF Brize Norton Pre-School

A Pre-school Playgroup is located next to Millenium Centre on Stanmore Crescent. The Pre-school provides sessional care for children between 2 and 5 years. Morning sessions (0900 - 1130 hrs) are held Monday to Friday for children aged 3 to 5 and afternoon sessions (1215 -1445 hrs) are held Monday to Thursday for children aged 2-3 years. The Pre-school is term time only.

Fees - at present (March 2010) the fees are £35 per week for a child attending the 5 morning sessions and £28 per week for a child attending a 4 afternoon sessions. These should be paid in advance and are paid regardless of attendance.

The Pre-school only accepts children who are service dependants.

The Pre-school provides a safe and happy environemt in which children are encouraged to develop responsibility for themselves, towards others and to their environment. There is a warm, friendly and experienced team of staff to provide quality care for the children.

The Pre-school accepts nursery education vouchers.

Filkins Nursery ( approx 2 miles from RAF Brize Norton)

Open from 8am-6pm, we offer high quality care for children aged from 2-5years, all year round. We also offer before and after school care, and a Holiday Club for 5-11 year olds.

Small groups and qualified, experienced staff. Pre-school French classes, music and yoga at no extra charge.

Your 3yr old child may also be eligible for 15 hours of completely free nursery funding during term time.

Sunshine Day Nursery

The station has built a new 78 place childcare facility which opened in Jan 08. The Nursery was built with a generous donation from the RAF Benevolent fund and is situated just inside the main entrance gates. The Nursery is open to service families and MOD personnel serving at RAF Brize Norton.

Sunshine Day Nursery is an OFSTED registered daycare/creche facility. It is open 0745 -1715 for 51 weeks of the year, closing for the Christmas grant and English bank holidays. The Nursery provides quality childcare for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years. We offer affordable childcare and can cater from half hour childcare to full daycare sessions on a weekly or permanent basis.

Sunshine Day Nursery offers a secure, warm and friendly environment with stimulating activities to enable children to learn through play. Children are encouraged to learn through interaction with others helping them to develop their confidence and self esteem as well as learning valuable social skills.

We aim to provide a broad, balanced curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child. The curriculum will reflect the areas of learning set out by the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The Nursery accepts nursery education vouchers and supports various childcare voucher schemes.
