Dave Bedford, Race Director of the Flora London Marathon and former World 10,000 Meter Record holder recognises the challenges of the RAF’s Operation Long Road commenting;

‘Cycling a total of 3181 miles across America will be no easy ride. The logistics, technical and personal fitness challenges involved in such a project should be recognised, and the fundraising activities of this charity offer a great opportunity for civilians to support wounded servicemen, particularly with their rehabilitation.

Help for Heroes had 105 runners taking part in this year’s London Marathon, and we are very proud that as an event we were able to assist with increasing awareness of Help for Heroes, our servicemen & women, both past and present, should never be forgotten’.
